Tricker’s celebrates 190 years with an exclusive exhibition

On 2 May 2019, Tricker’s, the privately-owned luxury English shoemaker, hosted a party to celebrate its 190th anniversary. Held in a gallery in St James’ Mason’s Yard, the event featured an exhibition of some of its famous fans with quotes on why they loved the brand.

SCPR researched past clients old and new to pull together a list of idols that epitomise the brand’s longevity and credentials as Britain’s oldest luxury shoemakers. It worked with British designer fans such as Patrick Grant, Margaret Howell, Asai and Nicholas Daley as well as celebrity stylists and agents to pull together a gallery of portraits and quotations.

We invited editors, stylists, models and influencers to the launch to meet the Tricker’s team, see the exhibition and watch apprentice bespoke shoemaker Adele Williamson work on a pair of hand-made shoes (a process which takes at least 9 months!).

Famous fans in the exhibition included Winston Churchill, Cary Grant, Michael Fassbender and Dominic West.

The event was a tremendous success and the Tricker’s team were delighted with the reception to the exhibition and the 190th anniversary.
